A visit from the CIH HIV/AIDS Initiative

The program director of the Centre for International Health's HIV/AIDS Initiative- Africa visited Lusaka from November 17- November 22nd. During his visit we attended many meetings including:

  • A lunch meeting with Prof. Serpell, the vice-chancellor of UNZA, and members of the VC's Steering Committee on HIV/AIDS and the HIV/AIDS Response Programme Staff.
  • A meeting with Mr. Kakuwa who is the link between the Faculty of PhysEd at the University of Toronto and the unit of PhysEd here at UNZA.
  • Meetings with public relations and the computer office
  • A meeting at the Canadian High Commission
  • A meeting to discuss a needs/progress assessment of the HIV/AIDS strategic plan, services and policy implementation
  • And of course my deliverables and tasks while I'm here.
  • Oh, and we worked on a proposal which was due on Monday.

It was a busy few days but a lot was accomplished and as always its nice to see a friendly face from home. AND I got to learn a few things about my boss....
